I am wondering what software I need to be able to V-carve vector art. Is there anything in a affordable price range?

Rams3d does a great job of V-carving. The basic version is $895 for a limited time. I've used the 15 day demo and made numerous V-carved files from designs that I made in CorelDraw. Each one worked to perfection!

RAMS 3D Enterprise edition v1.7

I used this for quite a while for doing vcarving and raised lettering.

I needed something more in the design end so I leased ArtCam Insignia - great package.

Rams has lowered the enterprise price since I purchased it. I know that it can be upgraded, but not sure about upgrading by someone I sell it to.

Anyway I would gladly sell this package for 400 USD.

If you are interested you should probably check with RAMS first.

Does this program save into a ShopBot cutting file or do I have to convert it some how?

Yes, It has a ShopBot post. Once the file is generated you can edit it from the same dialog box as well.

Hi Dan / Scott,

Yes Dan, as Scott says it does generate native .sbp code.

I understand that there have been some major improvements and enhancements since I stopped using v1.7. The reason that I purchased it was strictly for the vcarving ability. It did that very well, especially compared to other package costs with this capability. I believe that since the new owners have taken over there have been some changes for the better.
