I am cutting a lot of solid wood 4/4 and 8/4 tropical woods and some American. So I needed a stronger vac setup. So I used ¾” acrylic with a simple hole drilled about ½ the way through the edge and a small hole then some 1/8 vac foam tape and some thin neoprene rubber to help keep parts from jiggling around. I screwed it down to a sheet of ¾” ply that is held with my fein setup. I made this 4 zones for 5 to 7” long wood then to 15” then to 24” then to 36” this is every strong setup I have run it with a small pump and it is fine. Sometimes one of the zones leaks but it is not really an issue. The last pic is some of the parts I cut out. They are 1.5” thick and the wood is almost 2”

Look good Steve! Solid wood can be a pain to hold with vacuum.

What's your JIG vacuum source?

What are you milling with that setup?

I have a couple of vac's both gast. the one I use most is a oilless one with two pistons. it works pretty well can run for days on end and goes down to 28" though it is small can can't keep up with much leaking at all. here is a better picture
