Does Anybody have experience cutting alum. I'm trying to cut polished gold alum. that is laminated to 1" Gatorfoam. The problem is I'm not getting a straight cut and its tearing up the foam. I'm using a solid carbide double flute and have been adjusting feed rates with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jon Himes

you have to use 1/4 carbide "o" bites or 1 flute, and cool the bit with wd 40 or wather and soap, set the router to slow rev. the travel speed must be slow, you have to cut chips, not dust

you can get the bites from hart laurer bits
