I have a supplier close to me - when I asked about sign foam they said they have Design Board? Any idea how that compares to sign foam? Also, assuming I go ahead with Design Board, does anyone have some recommended speeds and feeds? I plan on doing V-carving, etc. is it safe to assume it's close to the parameters for Sign Foam? Thanks

Keith, I believe design Board is manufactured by Jasper Industries in indiana. If its the same as what I think it is, we ran some tests last year and found it to be very flat, within tolerance on thickness over the entire 4' x 8' panel(however their 1 1/2" material ran 1,3/16" best I can remember) so if you need dead on thickness double check what their actual finished thickness is before ordering.
We had no internal voids or concerns of any kind. Ran fine and finished fine.
As far as feed and speed, you really need to run your own tests but I know we ran some HDU recently at much higher speeds with our new ascension control box than we ever could on the standard PRT so its all about your goals, sharp bits, and dialing in what works for you.
Generally you can run faster than other stock like woods or plastics. it cuts like the pink insulation foam only more dense (15pound/ cu ft is typical)so not too many concerns about edge chipping etc.
