We have an old PRT without any vacuum and are attempting to cut hole plugs that are 2 1/8" Diameter. Is there a good method of cutting these that keep the plugs round? When we have done these the plugs come out elliptical.

Hey Jeff!

My first check would be the hold down; are you using some tabs for this small part?

Try applying a vinyl mask to the underside of the material, this will hold the items in place and you literally just lift them off the mask when done. obviously you will want to ensure you co not cut through the mask.

Or another option I do sometimes, is to turn of my dust collector, and allow the dust and chips, to pack in the cut area, It is obvioulsy harder on bits, but it works quite well.

Jeff, what kind of material and thickness are the hole plugs? I would cut the parts with a .020 skin conecting them all. Mark
