I'm trying to use a two flute chipbreaker bit on some hardwood at the recommendation of a tool supplier.
I've tried a recommended chip load of .015, with my spindle at 20K rpm and feed rate of 600 ipm, and my usual feed rate of 18K and 780 ipm. I get tool marks on the material at both. No burning, just really bad tool marks and alot of tool screeching.
Can someone recommend a starting point for cutting hardwood (maple) with a 1/2" chipbreaker?
Thanks
