If one of the pair of stepper motors goes and I put a larger stepper motor in its place, will this affect the other in step and direction moves? Or should both motors be the same size? Or does it matter? The larger is the same make just more torque.
Or is doing this a no no?

I would suspect that differnt sized motors will
have differnt mass/inertia issues.
They might step the same but at slightly different times, both starting and stopping.
This could cause you problems.
Not to mention impedence issues on the electronic side.
In short ... try to match things up.
These SB's are already the BEST Bang-for-the-Buck
on the market.
Why take chances and mess that up ?
