Looking for approx max speeds drilling 1/4" holes in MDF. Z plunge and rpms. X,Y move speeds will be limited due to closeness of holes, want to try and gain time by using faster Z moves. Any advice?
Thanks.................

I drill 1/4" holes in MDF daily, usually 3/4"thick. I tend to go pretty fast or else the bit gets too hot and smoldering can occur, shich could very easily lead to a fire. So, I usually set the z plunge at 2 ips.
