Hi all
I have a customer that wants a quote on some ball and claw legs. They have one i can copy. I am planning on probing it on the indexer. Does anybody have any idea on machine time? The legs are 15 in hi and 4x4 at the widest. The top 7 inches is just a rectangle.
thanks
John

Can't help with how much time this will take but don't these legs cost around $50?
How can you possibly make any money at making them?
Lots of suppliers around selling many sizes and styles.
Have been there... I needed Coffeewood legs of this style but 30" length. After a LONG search for a shop that would make them.... $500.00 EA and you had to order a min. of 5! It's going to be awhile but I now have my ShopBot and "gonna" do my own. Saga to continue.

John,
I tried this approach on gunstocks. I probed the pattern stock and then tried to tie all the dots together using Rhino to form surfaces. It took forever and the results were less than impressive. It might work for you but it depends on your software. Good luck!
