Indexer: Spirals on a shape?

I know how to do the pineapple pattern on the indexer using clockwise and counterclockwise spirals, and I know how to use a shape from Part Wizard to create a shape, but how do I combine the two to make something like the pineapple/pinecone shape that I've seen at the Shopbot headquarters?
