I just tired cutting some 1/16 aluminum the other day using the following spec's
1/4 double flute bit
11,000 rpm on my porter cable router
and .5 ipm
This spec's/setting allowed for the best cut however I was planning on tiring a 1/8 carbite down spiral bit.
do i need make any adjustments to these setting for the 1/8 bit?
has anyone used 1/8 down spiral bit before?
I was also going to use the 1/8 to cut some formica / laminate
Is their an optimum RPM/ IPM rate you could recommend for a 1/8 down spiral?
I do not have a vac system/setup for hold down. Will double sided carpet tape do the job for hold down for laminate?
regards,
Ted
