I just read the recent post about cutting in slate. Cutting in stone is just what I would like to do. What other stone material have you cut into? Sandstone? Limestone? Marble? These are all relatively soft - does any one have any experience with them? RPM? Speed? Depth of each pass? Bit size? Any other stone material?

Does it create a lot of abrasive material that could harm the machine? How do you deal with this? I work on a machine that is not mine, so I need info up front before I propose using the machine this way.

Thanks in advance for all your help and advice...Paul

Paul,

Do a search of the forum using the word 'marble'. You'll find a lot of good information. This link (http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/show.cgi?tpc=315&post=22184#POST22184) to a post by Bill Palumbo worked for me.
