THREAD FROM ARCHIVE

From: Ron Brown Date: 19 Jan 1999
Today, I installed the second sacrifical bed on my SB. The cutting area on mine is 50 X 218 inches. It is easier to load from one end. The adhesive I used to glue wood strips to the bed would not handle MDF handling abuse. And, I work by myself. So, I used the Y-"gantry" to carry the sheets down the table, hanging them with bar clamps, placed them with a gap slightly smaller than the bit I used to trim the joints to a tight fit, secure and trim, Works great. No hoisting of heavy sheets of material and ready to set up the vacuum clamping and final truing. I sure wish I'd thought of this the first time I put the bed on!
