Hello all
I have just scrounged a large rotary vane vacuum pump which had been lying in a farmer's field for some years.
It bears the inscription "Bryan Donkin Ltd, Chesterfield". It looks like it was made pre-1960. It also looks like it could suck out your eyeballs at 50 feet once it got working.
I have taken it mostly to bits and it appears to be okay inside, very little corrosion aside from a ball race which I can replace.
I have emailed Bryan Donkin Ltd whom I located on the web, but they have been asset stripped many times and have no archives or records left.
I was hoping for any information to help me rebuild and run the machine. Lubrication, RPM, Horsepower of the motor needed to run it, all that sort of stuff.
Can anybody on this forum help in any way? I would be most grateful. I enclose a photo of the thing before it got taken to bits.

Simon.
