Roots Blower noises

We are experiencing unusual noises coming from our Roots 7.5 hp sgl phase URAI blower motor. Anybody help with this?
We're concerned about it. Pinging noise at first now sounds like a clanging noise. We changed oil and greased it. Still have the noise. Yeah it is noisy out of the box but it seems to have gotten worse.

Have you called Dresser? I think it would be best to call them directly over something like this.

I think I'd leave it off until I got some official answers from Dresser or a tech. If the insides are anything like a turbo unit while it is making noise it could cost $$ to repair it... once it flys apart it could cost $$$$$$$$$.

I had a similar issue ... it turned out to be the cooling fan on the motor. Had to remove the housing on the motor and tighten and adjust the fan blades. It was an easy fix ... certainly worth checking.
