I am having trouble finding anything online regarding this...I am looking for a device to project (laser I would guess) a simple dxf outline and screw location details onto a table surface from above. This is in a rapidly changing assembly area. I would like the operator to be able to call up the dxf on a pc instead of using outdated templates. I am sure I have seen something like this at the IWF show or somewhere?

Brady ...this seems like something you would know about.

I am looking to buy something off the shelf it is available and not too insanely expensive.

That's about $23k +/- USD, by the way...still not within the reach of most.

What exactly do you need it for? Post cutting assembly? If you just want to locate jigs or screw holes, do it in CAD/CAM and write a drilling routine with an 1/8" bit etc...

Do you need millimeter accuracy? Better? Or worse?

We use the Carter Z-Lasers over each of our six CNC mills. They're worth it from our production perspective. As I recall, they're fairly costly.

If you don't need uber-accuracy, consider a $500 video projector and work out the scaling, etc. necessary to project a generally accurate image of your layout.

We've been contemplating this sort of solution for our bridge saws.
