Would there be any problems using two x/y carriages on my prt 96? I want to cut a whole series of small parts on what will be a long ongoing contract. I do not have space for a second machine in my current workshop, so I thought that most of the time the space at one end of the table is free so just plonk another x/y/z and away you go!. Its probably not that simple though is it? Help and advice greatly appreciated (has anyone done this before)

Steve I am going to be doing the same thing and talked to shopbot what you need is a secound control unit and limit switches so that the two units do not interfear with each other also a cheap secound computer also depending on your application you can run two z axis offset for distance: so you can be cutting two units on each of the xy units so if your small pieces are workable then you would be cutting 4 units at about the same time only loading time will determine the different run times.
