Looking for opinions on 1-1/2 - 2hp dust collectors for the 'Bot. 1250 - 1500 cfm range, 8 -12" wc, 65 - 75db, 1 micron. Looking at a JDS, a Penn State, and a Delta. All pretty much in the same price and spec range. Mainly wondering if it will do the job. Any success/failure stories? Thanks........

getting a quiet dc is hards. there are some mufflers that really help but I doubt any will bring it down to 75db's the clearview without a muffler is very loud I know I have one.
but I doubt you will find any single stage dc that is quiet.

We bought a Penn State DC2V2. It is fairly pleasant to be around. (no precise DB level recorded so far) Seems to keep up with the dust pretty well, better even than our built-in system.

I just bought an onieda gorilla (2HP) for my PRS. It will suck all of the loose cutoffs through 40 feet of 4" hose !! I'm astounded at the power of the machine. It was a little rough to assemble (solo, no less), but it really was worth the money. I'm also able to hook up the planer and table saw to it at the same time as the 'bot, and get great collection.

Finished hoking up the new DC. Went with a Penn State DC2000 - 2hp, 1 micron. 120/220v. Fairly quiet, compared to others of the same hp. Have to fine tune the overhead trolley for the hose. Pretty good deal, came with 50' 4" hose. With shipping to NY, came to 320.00 Had to make a new dust shoe, switching from 2" to 4" hose. All in all, good deal, just have to watch small children and other little things that get to close to the hose.

no dc will do great on 25' of 4" flex hose. if you could change most of it to 6" it would help or change it to solid pipe.
or replacing the cloth bags with a better filter.
most dc's have restricted flows because the bags are not big enough.
