Hello All (or "Folks", if you prefer) -

I emailed Wayne Locke regarding his Harbor Freight Lathe/Indexer set up for specifics on which model lathe he used, rails and all the nitty gritty, but haven't heard back, so I don't know if his contact info is still valid.

Do any of you have a set up for an indexer/lathe similar to his configuration? I don't really need to have a stepper hooked up just yet, being able to do straight turnings would be enough of a challenge in getting started.

We are going to be ordering a 5x8 SB very shortly and would like to configure the machine so that we can do turnings from the get-go. We will modify the locally fabbed table to work with a long lathe bed.

If any of you have specifics, I would sure appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks!

One thing that I'm thinking of as a mid step toward a stepper motor drive indexer is a "manual indexer" (or rotary table?) for mutli side machining with say 22.5 deg. increment...
