Is a 2hp Perske too small for the 'Bot? Mounting issues, etc?

What do you mean too small?
I have a 3HP on mine.
I only had to drill 2 hole to mount it.

I meant small as far as power, not size. Any issues with the Perske - any reason to stick with Colombo or HSD instead?

I think it depends on what you are cutting and what you are cutting it with.
Do you have an Alpha?

Nope - PR w/PRT Z axis. Max 6ips move, so I'm not going to cut too fast anyway. Hardwoods, 2 or 3 pass cuts. PC 7518 works, want to reduce noise, bogging down, better cuts. Figure if I save on a smaller spindle, can go for a 4G upgrade also.
