Greetings

The CNC Craftsmen Workshop has ended and it was a blast. Everyone had a good time, made some excellent sample pieces, and left happy. I’m relaxing, thinking about what a wonderful time we had and all technical steps we went through.

Everyone found their way to my shop mid-day Wednesday. This gave them the opportunity to meet each other and scope out the shop and showroom. After three days of hard work, they were still sparked up. Early Sunday morning, most of the them were waiting at my shop for their donuts. Heeeee He, I’d invited them to come by rather waiting in the airport.

We took this opportunity to play around with my latest invention, “Dr. Crumley’s Majic Reflective Glass Beads and Mica powder". That left us just enough time to drive around to look at some of my older signs. Then it was time for their flights.

Gary Beckwith was with us the whole way, helping people with Artcam and introducing his latest 2" 30 degree V Bits. These are his design and the only dealer offering them so www.beckwithdecor.com (http://www.beckwithdecor.com). Check out his tapered ball nose bits also. These are custom made by Onsrud and are solid carbide. They are beauties.

It was a great workshop - the best workshop of any type I have attended. I am very inspired! Spent most of the flight home designing signs in my head. Thanks again Joe. Also, big thanks to Gary, Doug, Terry and Chris for all their help. Good people. I had a great time and learned tons. Thanks to the other attendees for their help and ideas too. Great group!

I agree. Thanks Joe for opening up your shop and not only teaching each of us (both one on one and as a group), but inspiring us to just try new things and to not sweat the small stuff. An engineer by trade, It was very refreshing to work the other side of my brain. I appreciated everyone and everything that was shared.

p.s. Not only did we have a great time, we ate VERY well. All I can say is Chelinos in Norman OK is *THE* place for Mexican food and great service. Just beware that Jalepenos can very in heat from day to day as Gary and Dave can attest to.

It was a great experience. Many thanks to Joe and everyone. Know it takes a lot of work to organize something like this.

List of some of the products discussed in the workshop has been posted on CNC Bucket: http://www.cncbucket.proboards100.com/index.cgi?board=signmaking

Thanks to everyone for posting lots of great photo's of the workshop. I'll be collecting some of these and putting them in order, if that's ok with you guys. The workshop has put me a little behind so this may take a while.

Also take a look at Pat's workshop. Now that's going to be fun to work in.

WOW! Pat, just looked your workshop photos, What an undertaking!! I think if I had to face that much work I would take up the Harmonica instead of woodworking. I'm impressed my friend. You should be very proud - Neville

I'm thinking that the shop needs a sign overhead.... something like...

Pat's Playhouse
Pat's Palace of Perdition

The shop 1200sf is on the main floor.
The basement is finished quite nice and the wife has her sewing room downstairs 600sf and a big home theater 600sf next door..

It was fun to build and we do spend quite a bit of time out there. It is only 20steps from the back door. I will post some pics of the "finished product".
