Just a cell phone picture but this was my first try with the bot. I did it a while back but never posted it. It is pocketed and Vcarved 3/4" MDF (2 layers) with real gold leaf and smaltz in the poketed areas. Layout was done with FlexiSign, toolpaths with VcarvePro.
Next time I do one like this I think will paint the face first, apply a mask, and then pocket and Vcarve so that I can work with the smaltz and gold through a mask and have sharper edges.

Beautiful!
It looks to be about 3' wide?
What type of sign service do you provide? You could make good money with this quality of work.
Post more!

Thats right Joe, about 3' wide.
We do a couple things here... We are primariliy a commercial/retail construction company building store spaces in DC, MD, VA, PA, and also Central FL. We also have been in the electric sign business (manufacture and install) since 1983.
The main reason I wanted the bot was for cabinet making and for cutting channel letter backs and faces. I have since found many uses for it outside my original focus.
We have done several handcarved signs in the past years but I always layed them out with the idea of limiting the carving work because I had to have time to do that part myself. The bot has made me brave in that regard.
Thanks!
John

Amazing. Everyone's first signs always look so good, but I can't make anything even close to that.
