Route-able sub-straights

At one time we had a large job that we used .50" PVC, that came in colors, and we (subbed out) routered w/ a V groove bit, when you routered the core of the board was white. Something like you may see in a motel. Does anyone know what this sub-straight is/was. It was also good for outdoor use. Any ideas?

I think you are talking about what is called "Color-Core"
