OK, in honor of and in response to Joe's encouragement for more activity.

As my earlier post indicated, I've been using the technique on cedar fence boards to make rustic signs. Problem was frayed paper on the edges of letters. Best solution so far is to paint the transfer tape surface with water based lacquer, dry until crispy then cut. Dry's pretty fast and can be encouraged with a hair dryer or heat gun.

Second improvement is removing any remaining glue after pulling the transfer tape. Rubbing with fingers works, but fingers get sore. I picked up the crepe block I use to clean my sandpaper drums and disks and rubbed it...perfect, quick, clean and easy! Rubber cement balls up and falls off.
