What's Color Core? Where is it available?

Color core is a Multi-colored engravable polymer sheet. It has an .0625 thick layer on each side bonded to a contrasting color in the middle.
My sign was made from a .500 thick piece that was tan/green/tan. It "cuts like butta"!
I got mine from WWW.harborsales.net

Thanks for the good words on the sign guy's

Thanks Tom

TF,

For a first sign you are way ahead of the crowd.

I look forward to seeing your next project. Perhaps using a substrate with more possibilites.

Keep up the good work.

Your friend,

Joe

Thanks Joe
It was good talking to you the other day.
I just got together today with one of the biggest sign shops in town .
They had no one to do V carving for them, Now they do!
I have only been working 14 hours a day to figure this ShopBot thing out, since I got it last month.
I am pleased so far with my progress

Thanks
Tom

Here's a front door kickplate out of oak.
I have some contractors interested in these

Do you put your own name, or that of an enemy, on something that is meant to be kicked?

Tom

Please allow me to make a suggestion or two.

I would make a half dozen or so V carve examples, all the same out side deminsions, with different materials and letterstyles.

This gives the customer something to handle as well as shows what you can do. To some potential customers V carving doesn't mean very much. They might not be able to envision what you are talking about.

I really like examples!

Gerald, Great idea..I'll market these to divorce lawyers!

Joe, I have some Cedar blanks coming today just for that reason.
Thanks for the help

If you are near to horses, think of how many stable doors and horse names.....
(We even supplied a stable farm in Germany 2 years ago)

But, if that cedar is toxic, you should stick to the same stuff that the doors are made of.

Gerald I am DEEP into horse country and never gave the stable signs a thought.
This forum has brought so many ideas to me.
I made a sign for the neighbor tonight for her daughters horse. And that will probably turn into a fund raising project for her horse club.
I make some money ,they make some money everybody's happy.
Thanks for the tip

I'm going to check with the school for their "Barn Doors" and "stall doors" for not only the horses but those cattle, pigs, goats, rabbits and even chickens.
