Gatorfoam?

Anyone using this for signs? The cost is pretty attractive so I'm wondering how it carves and paints compared to HDU?
The description from N.Glantz catalog describes it as having a wood fiber veneer that doesn't need to be primed.

You can use it to cut out letters and shapes or backer boards for prints, but it is not comparable to HDU - you can't carve it.

I use ULTRA BOARD a lot. It is covered with PVC and holds up well with 3 coats of latex paint.
