I'm starting to do some 3D signage where I'm creating a 3D model from a bitmap.
Typical machining area is 32" x 32" with a depth of around .250"
Material is PVC.
Since I'm not fully sure how the 3D Ramp threshold effects my cutting, I've just keep it around 150.
What does this value really effect?
What values do sign shops use when routing a 3D area of this size.
Thanks

The 3D Threshold adjusts how sensitive ramping is in 3D. The higher the number, the less sensitive ramping is. Generally speaking, leave it at 150. A relief from a BMP isn't usually a very smooth relief unless it has been smoothed in Aspire or Pro.

I did use Aspire to smooth the Z textures but there still seems to be points where the XY speed slows down to my ramp values and mytextured Z height was a change of .050".

I have a PRS standard so I'm trying to get the most speed and performance before loosing quality.

SB3 has a VR range from 1 to 1000 for 3D threshold. Would 150 be the max for standard or just the mean?
Thanks
