I am cutting out a field and inlaying letters from the back with the idea of having a lip to glue to the back of the field. The job is punch through translucent letters in opaque field. When using the "stepped male insert" in the inlay toolpath generator it insists on milling the entire face of the letters. Start depth "0", finish depth .5, shoulder .25 x .25, material .5.
Am I doing something wrong or should I be doing it as a regular straight male .25 deep and offsetting for the "lip" cut-through?
