Gold leaf

Just got some interest in gold leaf.

Price needed for doing gold leaf please, I know what I want for letters. Should I charge by the square inch or square foot?

I don't want to under sell myself.

We typically charge a minimum of $85 a square foot for the area to be gold leafed.

Haven't done gold leaf since high school so.....
I'm in Socal and there are a few sign distributors here that sell it but here's one from another post

I took this photo earlier this week of a sign I made 3.5 years ago for a home near Elgin, TX.

I expected it to weather well, but I am pleasantly surprised that it still looks brand new.

The owner says it has been in the weather the whole 3.5 years and he just rinses it off from time to time.

The sign is made from 15# high density urethane (HDU) painted with Porter 100% acrylic latex Murphy Green flat luster paint and the v-carved portions gilded with 23k gold leaf.

It speaks highly of the quality of those materials.
