I'm a newbie to sign making and I've been reading everything I can get my hands on about painting signs. Now I'm more confused than ever!!
I'm a small shop (1000 sq ft.) so I would like to use acrylic paints. I have been reading about Ronan Aquacote vs. Oneshot. So I have some questions for anyone willing to share their knowledge.

1. Will Ronan Aquacote work as good as 1shot for spraying or airbrushing lettering?
2. Is a good exterior acrylic latex ( like a Sherwin Williams Super Paint) a good choice for painting signs?
3 Will acrylic chalk faster than an oil base bulletin paint?
4.Should painted signs be top coated with a clear for protection?
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer these questions.

John hit the nail on the head.

We use 100% acrylics on all our signs and have for years. No problems.

Don't use clear. The clear will break down before the premium paints will.

I haven't used Ronan Aquacote so I can't help there, but we do use Sherwin Williams Super Paint and it's a good choice. Our favorite is Porter Acri-Shield.

Good luck...and keep the passion going.
