I know this has probably been asked many times before, but here it goes again. I do a lot of work for an awards and promotional products company (mainly wood products) and they want me to do up several HDU signs approximately 12" x 18" with raised text, an arrow, and a border for a local golf course. They will supply the materials (1" precision board) and will also do the painting. All I need to do is make the files and do the cutting. No problem, we like that. ;-) What I would like to know is what you would charge (retail) for a simple painted sign of this size? I mean if you were doing all of it, not just the cutting of it.
Thanks

Scott,
Check this "book" out from Roland. Again, don't buy their engraver but do follow the info for pricing and markup. Everything you ever wanted to know about pricing...well, ok not everything but it really is a good starting point.

$93.00 a square foot( raised letters,$78.00 for incised), HDU supplied. this is for single sided only, Double sided is $133.00 per sq ft raised letters and 110.5 incised letters.
Doing multiples is not cheaper, nor is it cheaper to do a small sign. I would start @ a minimum of $200.00 for that size, Finished. and the only discount would be an administrative discount of maybe 5% as you only need to produce one invoice not 5.
Watch your precision board, as it is not a consitent thickness, and may very up to 1/8 of an inch. ensure you always zero your bit from the same location and that that spot is a happy medium in variation of thickness. Or if available run it through a thickness planer to get it accurate.
Good luck,
Dale
