View Full Version : Indexer problem?

I recently upgraded my version software so I don't know if that has anything to do with this.

For some reason when i try to set my Z zero for my indexer I use a cut piece of 2x4 for the center of the chuck, I lower my Z manually then do a C2 with the plate under and instead of going down to touch the plate it moves up but never comes back down.

Then I just manually took it down to the jig surface then manually Zeroed the Z.

I made a file in indexer tools "turning a blank to a finished size"
The blank is 2"x2" square I want to turn it to 1.75 round.
in the "rough blank radius" I input 1"

but it starts cutting about an 1" or more above the surface. I wonder if this has anything to do with not being able to C2 to the center of the chuck.
Is there some type of table limit set somewhere that won't let it go down any further?
I have Zzeroed there before with no problem that was why i thought there might be some type of limit set in the newer version that i don't know about.

Jack...
Are the Z up and down reversed? May be a result of a negative/positive sign reversed in the unit values?

I don't know however, i just tried a new file

Zzero to center of chuck
radius 1"
.8750 at start point
.8750 at end point
.1250 bit stepdown

and it took a .25 depth cut in one pass and took it down to 1.5" which is more than i wanted it to do, what am i setting wrong?

I take it that your C2 command still works at all other areas/uses except at the indexer? At that height somewhere else on the bed?

I got that problem resolved...don't ask me how?!
but yes the c2 works elsewhere. I think a "bug" crawled in and was messing with me, i must have killed it!
