I got a carvewright for a wedding present and in reading about it I came across the doors and mantle that Grant Bailey made on a Shopbot. I have no cad experience but would love to make something like he did.In a nutshell, what would I spend & how long to become proficient with a 'bot. I would probably like to get a machine that I would likely not outgrow.I will attend the camp this month to see one up close, thanks Neville PS any Shopbotters near Austin that I could harrang :-)

Neville,
There is a botter in Austin by the name of Wayne Lock. What were you wanting to do with the bot?

I would like to make doors with carvings, mantels and such. I love the old style v carved professional signs aswell. I'm building a house from an 1860 timber barn and want some dramatic doors for it ( I'll replace the store bought ones as I learn )
