For all us old guys who can't see anymore, I went and bought my Xmas present for myself of a 25" monitor and "oh my God" it is the best thing you can do for yourself for reading posts or doing designing on the computer. I was using a 17" monitor and half the time had to hold up a magnifying glass and it was miserable.
Also you can hold the control key and use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom text and images.

I run a software development lab at HP.
Everyone has at least one of these.
When it comes to screen real estate, bigger is ALWAYS better.

I didn't know that about the control key... spend too much time running the software to learn these things.. thanks Richard

On your web browser you can go to View, Zoom and bump up the screen display there.
This will work until Santa arrives with bigger monitors on the 25th....

For Pat,
I fight this silly argument at work with the development engineers.
The engineers want 26" monitors which cost 480 each.
I can get 22 or 24 " for around 200 each.
I tell them if they REALLY want more real estate, get 2 22" monitors for $400 (yes, we save money) and I have more real estate than you 30" monitor for 1200.
Save money every time by getting 2 monitors every time.

I got my 25.5" monitor for $229.00 I don't think i want to pay 850.+ for 5 more inches (at least not for a monitor anyway!)
Pat if you want to spend my money for me at least make it for something fun! lol
I wasn't sure if 25" was big enough but when you sit 24" away it is pretty big.

You could just buy a pair of glasses for $15

Dual monitors are not as nice as three or four ....
Ron
One problem with dual monitors is if you have to go back to one monitor, when you open your programs the icons and buttons etc. will still be on the other monitor that is not there anymore. So you cannot see them or use them. Getting them back to one monitor is hard to do...

The nVidia driver with my GTX285 handles switching between the monitors really nicely, I never get stuck with programs or icons on the disconnected monitor as used to happen a lot a few years ago.
I use a 24" widescreen most of the time but I have an additional 37" screen that I sometimes use when doing design work. I used to do a lot of work on large boats and modelling those things was a real nightmare on smaller screens.
I'm really looking forward to getting Aspire 2.5 as that's the first version that properly supports multiple monitors.
I still only use a 15" screen on the 'Bot. I don't really use any of the features of the software, just load up a part file created via Aspire and press Start so there's not much to actually look at. I have succumbed to setting the fonts to 120% on that one though as my eyesight ages faster than me! The price of spending 30 years stuck in front of various monitors I suppose.

Buy you another one Jack,
I use twin 24" wide screens.
Check out the spread of Aspire across them.
