After deciding on artistic elements I had to translate those elements into a format within which i could use them

Then came the arduous task of taking that design and toolpathing it basically selecting the different elements and assigning the differnt tooling to come up with the design i had envisioned.

After much trial and error, changing tooling back and forth for different toolpaths and having spent at least 20 hours on this from design to cutting here is what i came up with

Jack, if you want to do lithophanes, you'll need to use a different material.
It just doesn't have the same effect in wood with those very shallow passes.
better luck next time.
