I created a project that required 3 tool changes when I went to save it I got a message that it did not support tool changes in one program, which for the life of me could not understand. I save it in three files. Which to me is a pain. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Carl,

You have to run a file, change the tool....run a file, change the tool, etc.

If you saved them as one file, it would continue cutting without a change of the bit.

If you have multiple toolpaths that use the same bit, that's when you want to combine them into one file.

Scott what I don't understand you can sent the tool to a tool change location stop the spindal pause the program change the tool zero z then resume the program. You would think that shop bot could support the tool change option. does any know is they are working on this it seem's very basic.

I've been using it for a couple years now and don't find it that much trouble to just "FP" and run the next file. You'd still have to change the bit, Z Zero, and hit something on the keyboard anyway.

Carl...
Changing the bit during a pause in an active file could be dangerous. The router could start or the machine could move... or both.

This saftey factor may be why it is not designed into the postP's.

no need to fp just hit the enter key pops up the folder to select a file.
