View Full Version : Any idea's on holding down white oak?

my new vac setup only does so so on white oak. I loose about 1/2 the inches. even with a freshly milled surface. and I learned that if I leave only about .02 the wood leaks even more.
I have 1/8" foam on my pucks right now.

Thicker foam. I use 1/4" kind of musshy gasket for cedar. 1/8" firm foam will not hold it, too many leaks.

mine is pretty soft. but I have some thin rubber for not slippage so that may cause it.
if I buy thicker oak I can live with it. so much for 5/4 wood when it is less then 1 1/8" thick.
