I have tried this and can confirm it works...
You just have to remember to choose "Budget Shipping" which is free.

Go here and add the flash drive to your cart.

Go to www.buy.com (http://www.buy.com), go to.......Dane-Elec 2GB zMate Pen USB 2.0 Flash Drive - 2 GB - USB - DA-ZMP2-2048-R......
Order it as if you are going to buy it and follow these instructions, its still working, just ordered mine...

On the next page, click "Proceed to cart and checkout"
On the next page, click the "Google Checkout $10 Off" image
Choose Budget Shipping and complete Google Checkout and the flash drive is free.
You will have to enter credit card information before it zeros out the total.

I have received several emails saying that there is a charge for this flash drive. NOT TRUE!!! When you get to check out make sure you update the shipping to Budget Shipping. And it will be free, I really don't think that's a bad deal Only Trying to Help.

I ordered one and it defaults to regular shipping and charges 6.98 (I think) but you have to change it like he says to budget shipping then it reads 0.00 total

This is available for new customers only (new to google checkout) when I try the deal it leaves me owing $10.00 since I have an account as a google checkout merchant myself.

Here are the conditions:

New Google Checkout buyers may earn and redeem a maximum of one new buyer bonus only. Google reserves the right to cancel bonuses or take other action.

Joe,
Many of us use flash drives to transfer toolpath files from a designated design computer to a designated router computer. That makes the flash drive like a piece of tooling. Many of us appreciate the posting of a deal, especially a free piece of tooling.

I hate to pile on Joe but if HE was selling something not shopbot related you might have a point but he's just passing info on a deal on to us. I got one myself for free and i use it to transfer files to the laptop running my bot. I opted for flash drive transfer rather than any type of wired/wireless transfer because i read of some problems on computers running anything other than the shopbot software so mine is dedicated just for the bot.
btw- every day is "cranky monday" for me!lol

The phrase "No good deed goes unpunished." comes to mind here.

Just the cynic in me, I suppose.

I did preface my comment about possible cranky monday syndrome.
I roger up on all the bennies of free or even close to free. Perhaps, though, the for sale forum might have been better venue.

So with that said, and as a very junior person in 'this' forum. I will retire any further comment as it will not add any value to the thread. I am sure this all seems flamish and that was not the true 'tone' I wish to leave it with.

I feel since everyone else is wrong and I am the only one who is right... I almost certainly need to revisit 'my' viewpoint. If you get my drift. :o

Joe, that is great attitude. Your input is welcome on this forum anytime. I'm sure the group considers any offense...cleared.

Joe said: "I feel since everyone else is wrong and I am the only one who is right... I almost certainly need to revisit 'my' viewpoint."

I feel this way on a daily basis

I have enough flash drives lying around, and I still just send the files over the network to the bot, easier for me.

I did it and it worked...since NY passed the tax law...I did have to pay $0.88 in NY state tax. Thanks for the heads up Jimmy. I ended up using it to get a 2Gb micro SD card for my Crackberry.
