fellow wants some rings made from aluminum or brass. 1/4" thick and 1/4" wide with the inside to measure below in multiples. accurate to within .01
they would need to be smooth when done so it would take some finish work and I can only see using tabs to keep them in place. the outside size is not critical the inside needs to be right on.
2 and 3/8"
2 and 5/8"
2 and 3/4"
4"

This is a job for a milling machine with a rotary table, or for a lathe.

Another way: If you place the tabs so they will fit between the jaws of a 3-jaw chuck, then after you rough out the ID and OD on the router you'll be able to quickly bore out the ID to it's final dimension on the lathe. Then chuck the part by the ID and turn the OD.

I would ask a couple questions how many parts? Is this a one time order or will there be follow up business of these same parts?
If it is a one time job have a lazer or water jet place give you bids for the work then tack on a profit and be done with it.
I have a small marine business and I make a couple parts out of aluminum. I have these parts cut by a company that does water jet cutting. They sell me the parts I need cut out for less than I can buy the plate for. They purchase huge amounts of material and they get a better price for plate than I can buying a few plates at a time.
I could probably route these parts on the Shopbot but it does not make business sense to do it.

I think your right outsource it. doubt I would make anymore doing it myself and the hassle to get it accurate enough.
