Coffee Table lift

I have a customer that is wanting a half-round coffee table 7'6"X3'6" with a lift. Has anyone done this? What kind of lift did you use? I found one that would hold 200lb for about $1200 from Selby Harware and seems it would work. I figured the top would weight about 180lbs if it is done in solid wood.

There are some reasonably priced Plasma tv screen lifts out now that might work.

If it's one of those that lifts and comes towards you (as if seated at a couch), be sure that there's enough weight in the base to keep it from tipping.

Look in the Rockler catalogue. That may be what you need. I think it is fairly reasonably priced. joe
