Rattling x motors

Hi Everyone. I am still having a rattle issue with my x motors. The machine is a one 8 month old PRS with very little time on it. I have checked pinions and they are tight and motor is up tight to rack. It makes the noise in both manual move and when running a file. I read somewhere once about adjusting a pot on the drives. Is this something I should look into? Or do you think it is a bad pinion gear. Thanks for the help in advance.

It's 'normal' for the gearboxes to make some noise after using them for a while. Unless you shell out for big buck harmonic gear units, there is going to be some backlash in them. It is advisable to keep Jog speeds below 20 IPS to reduce heat and wear when running the Alpha 7.2:1 motors.
