We have a neighbors son that is graduating the Citadel and is entering the US Navy to serve our country. I would like to carve the US Navy logo and give it to him as a graduation gift. I have looked for quite a while on the net and haven't come up with anything that is usable without a tremendous amount of work. Does someone have a file that is usable? I would appreciate it very much.

Contact James Booth at http://carve3d.com/

We have been working with him on Navy designs. You (and everyone else) will be delighted with the results.

Dan,

I have the one from the Vectric Forum. If you could email me I will send to you. You may want to wait and see the one Randall is talking about.

I talked to James and he is running into legal issues. The Department of Defense is very picky as to where and whom uses the Armed Forces logos in a commercial setting. There are a couple on the Department of Defenses web site that are EPS files but are laden with looped, crossed, and multiple vectors overlayed on each other, which makes it very difficult and time consuming to try and edit.

I was hoping to find something suitable by this weekend for the graduation and not spend a pile of money.

Dave, I will send you an email.

Thank you all for the ideas.

Check the shopbot for sale area. There was a man there that was making very nice military items that was selling his machine. I tried contacting him but didn't get a reply. Maybe you will have better luck. Ah here is the link: www.seriouswood.net (http://www.seriouswood.net).
