I have a PRT Bench Top and have installed a new 4G Controller on it. Install seemed to go fine with connections until I got a red light on Input 4. The message said "Remote Stop Button - Need to Reset" or something like that. Thing is, I do not have a Remote Stop on my system. I have re-checked all of my zero plate wiring and my prox switch wires and they are all in place. Think all will be well if someone can tell me how to knock this light out. Your help is really appreciated. Thanks!

If the board is set up for a N.C. contact on input 4, which I think it is, you will need to jumper across the terminals on that input.
That should fix the fault and shut off the light.

Thanks Roger for the quick answer. Please describe what is a N.C contact and also describe where the jumber will begin & terminate. Right now, there is nothing attached to the #4 Input. I am really challenged on electronics, so your help is appreciated. Bud Wilson

N.C. is "normally closed"
I am not looking at a board but you need to jumper from common to terminal #4 on the input section.
You must have something that came with the board that describes how to connect inputs to it.

No, unfortunately ShopBot did not include any documentation with the new board. It's been a pretty good guessing game from the start. Nothing too difficult, but the devil is always in the details.
When you say "common to terminal #4", I presume that you mean from #4 Input to Input Ground. Is this correct?

I'm not sure how the board is set up.
If #4 has 2 terminals then jumper it with a small wire.
If it is only 1 terminal then there must be a common to all the inputs. Jumper from that common to #4.
Did you wire in proximity switches?
I think they go to the same input section on the board. If I remember right there is a common for all inputs. But I have never seen a 4G board.

Open up your sb3 software. Type in VN and change the input 4 setting to normally open instead of normally closed and you won't even have to do a jumper.

Roger, the 4G board actually has 8 input posts and 8 output posts. And yes, I did wire in the prox switches and the zero plate. Frank with SB said all of the wires for the 4G board go in the same slots as for the 3G board, which only has 4 posts. All of the ground wires (green & white) for all 3 switches go under the Ground terminal. The red wires for the two prox switches go in 5+ and the two black wires for the prox switches go under 3. The black wire from the zero plate goes under post 1.
This was how my old board was wired and SB tech Frank said to wire it exactly like the old board. But, I wasn't expecting the Input #4 light showing "Remote Stop Button - Reset" to show up.

Thanks, Kenneth. Almost sounds too simple. Will try this when I get back to the shop tomorrow.
You guys are great for helping me out this late at nite.

Thanks for your excellent advise. The issue was resolved by Kenneth's suggestion to setting Input 4 to normally open. So simple, yet I was blinded by such a small but obvious resolution.
