That is so cool - how big is Nessy? Where di you get the patterns?

The Nessy is almost 6' high depending on how its posed and chewed up two sheets of ply.

The Velociraptor is about 90" long but uses only one sheet, Leaner and meaner heh heh heh :-)

I bought some of the small ply "stamped out" toy sized Dinos and then just scaled them in CAD.
As is turns out the small versions are NOT very well done and you cant just "scale and use".
I discoverd lots of non symmetry.
So after hours and hours of placing arcs and lines, and scaling to fit 4x8 sheet(s) and rearrainging parts for efficient material use and and hour or so of cutting and sanding and and and ...
Wah Lah a dino is born !

Just an update on the dinosaurs.

I finished the T-rex last evening and took pix of the trial assembly this afternoon

Your dinosaurs are really cool. Are you selling them? or are you just raising them to keep the grass down and wild animals out. I think you are very creative and they are a very unique idea. I enjoy the pictures.

These cut files arent all that OK, ya know.
Like, I've had some little Oopses during some parts.
So they "Arent Ready For Prime Time", bsides,
I have hours and hours and hours of CAD time in them as it is.
And I'm not sure wheather to sell cut-files or DXFs or just keep em for my own business use, or , or , or , ya know.
Still deciding. But I'm havin fun as I go :-)

You're not the only requester, so I'm considering my options.

Plus I'm working on a big 3 sheet Brachiasaur
it'll be Loooong ... ( just shoot me O :-) )

I'm gonna see how the Dinos are accapted locally, and IF !!! ...
A Library, School or Museum wants me to toss off a "special order" then , hey, I'm ready.

Dinos are an ETERNAL "draw" and not as tiresome as "Festivals" , ya know ?

So when/if I get these files in a "Ready for Prime time" condition. And if I decide to release them, sell them, trade them, whatever, I'll post my decisions here.

Do you design for Star Trek ? :-)

Did you use SB for any of those works ?
I can see some parts making applications from your pix.
I just had to click each of the "thumbs" on your first page. Nice presentation.

I use MicroStation (2d) and MicroStation Modeler for 3D. I've been a manager and/or user of Intergraph CAD since the mid 80's ( the old VAX days )
I will have to admit that for 3D solids "manipulations", Rhino seems to have an edge in it's user interface.

Yes indeed I use SB for this works. When I designed most of them, I did not have my SB yet, (only got it in may). I am concentrating on the moment in creating all the files for each of the pieces and also I design new stuff around the capability of the SB. For me, FormZ + a SB is a brand new way of creating things, that I am very exited to explore.
I am very interested in Rhino for Nurbs manipulation, which is the weakest point in Form Z.

I have not seen anything about the new tool for a while on the forum or SB site. Any news available ?
