8' Ant for Elementary school

I stopped in and showed the principle some of the things our machine could make and they asked us to make this ant for their annual bug event, "Camp Skeeter". It was a fun project for our high school students. It is made out of 3/4" mdf and was made from one of the ant pictures that someone posted over at www.cnczone.com (http://www.cnczone.com). I had to use some photoshop to clean up the image and manually make the joints 3/4" wide, but it wasn't that big of a deal. As time goes on, I'm confident the skills will increase.

Hey guys if you think this is cool, wait until you see what Ben is building with his new shopbot toy. Ben, I'm hoping to get a 32" Buddy. The insanely ironic question of the day is whether or not it will fit in my basement!!?? :LOL
