View Full Version : Is your shop a ShopBot demo site?

Based on several conversations we've had here at ShopBot headquarters in the last few days, I wanted to post a reminder that we're always looking for ShopBotters willing to demonstrate their tools to future ShopBotters. If you own a ShopBot (especially a PRSstandard or PRSalpha model), give us a call and ask to be put on our demo list. If a future ShoBotter calls and is interested in purchasing a tool, we'll put him or her in touch with you. Take some time when your schedules permit, give an overview of the machine and let it cut for a bit. If your demonstration leads to the purchase of a new ShopBot, you'll receive $250. That's all it takes. Everyone wins (and you know you have something in your shop you've been dying to show off to someone).

OK Dave, As a member of this community for a while, and quite the reason why I bought the machine in the first place, I would be willing to Demo my machine here is central suffolk county long island.
now here is that catch, my 48x96 is uncrated in the middle of my30x40 foot garage right where I unloaded it from the truck, medical issues have complicated getting the assembly complete, so my appeal goes out to fellow local shop botters who might be able to get me to operating status.
perhaps someone local has an attractive proposal for me that would be mutually benificial, up to and including a fixed price assembly price

Dave,
It is a bit early as I only have a months experience but I am now cutting parts and building a demo library.
I would be glad to be a demo center for the Massachusetts, Southern NH, Rhode island area.

Hey Bob, I am also building libraries!
Maybe you and I could learn a thing or two from each other?
If you think it's a good idea, maybe you could post a new thread on your current project -- we don't want to hijack Dave's thread, after all.

Even though our ShopBot is a PRTalpha we've had several guys stop by for a demonstration and discussion of how we use our machine.
Just last week a sign friend from about 50 miles away spent the morning with us and seemed to be swaying toward buying a ShopBot.
Anytime you want to send folks our way, we would be glad to demonstrate and answer any questions.

Seems like this is getting out of hand. You need to call shopbot to get your name on the list. Even if your name is not on the list you need to get the name and information of the people you are doing the demo for. You need to call shopbot and give them your name and the date and time of the demo along with the Demo customer. They keep this list updated and check new purchases against this list. Even if the person waits awhile to buy the bot, you will get credit if you have done your part.
1-- demo your bot to a potential new customer.
2-- get their information so you know who they are
3--- call Diane at shopbot she is the keeper of the list and give her the information about the demo.
4 wait for the money to come raining in.
It really is that simple. 20 demos that end up as customers and you can have a new spindle from your earnings, or 5 big ones mailed to you.

Dave,
Do you have any kind of screening process for these prospects? How does a 'botter know that a prospect that you pass along is serious about buying a machine and is not just going to waste the 'botters time?

Dave what do I get for giving 64 demos and having 56 order a machine? Chris Burns sent me an upgrade from cable to rack and pinion after my 15th demo and sale and I sold 9 after it was upgraded at the first camp shopbot at my shop and the rest throughout the years and my last demo was to my good friend Wayne Lock, am I still entitled to an upgrade from rack and pinion to a PRTalpha?.
Back then it was $100.00 per sale and the upgrade was only $1,500.00 so I might have enough sold for an upgrade.
