I'm planning an enclosed room in my new workshop with a very large door at the end of where I propose to house a 'Bot. I'm doing this for noise & dust control. I will probably keep my compressor & DC in there too. At the moment Stucco is going on the outside wall. Would I be advised to cut an opening before they reach that spot for an exhaust fan in that room to help? TIA Neville

Yes. it never hurts to have an exhaust port, and obviously it's better to do it now, rather than later...

Hey Bill, thanks for the reply. Hope to see you here in Feb?, maybe I can convince you to accompany me to that Irish Pub :-)

Neville, even with a good dust collector airborne dust can be a concern. Bill is right, plan for an exhaust system NOW and you will be glad you did.
Even a large fan is a great addition if you don't have an air filter just consider that the fan will need to pull air from somewhere to exhaust the room so if you have a low open grate at one end and a fan mounted higher at the other, the air flow will be pulling clean air in from the floor level and exhausting the airborne dust across the room and out at the higher level or visa versa.
we had a 2' commercial square fan in the old shop and it did a pretty good job when we opened a window at the other end and it got pretty breezy so Bigger is better and nice in the summer but you will have heat loss in winter.

Neville, it sounds like you are getting close to getting your Bot? The sign shop across from my shop just ordered an Alpha with spindle. Can't wait to see it in operation.
