I couldn't get the pictures to post here. got them down to 49K and 640 x 480 but it still said to big. So they are on the VCarve forum

Just finished this installation. Used Vector Art3D files and their free Machinist software for the flourish, and the "Forney Fluter" for the "perfect" stopped flutes. No burn and almost no sanding in the flutes. Not to mention it only took 10 minutes start to finish to do both sides. That's about 1/10 the normal time when you consider no sanding...

Thanks Dave.

The vertical foundation pieces and the Breast panel are quarter sawn red oak ply and everything else is quarter sawn red oak solid.

The basic concept came from the Victorian Mantel in The Tauton Press book "Building Fireplace Mantels" by Mario Rodriguez. The customer did a "can you do this but leave this out and change that to...." I said, "sure no problem".

The rest is history..
