Recently I bought a Deer Gas lamp...I removed the gas burners from it and made an idea to carve a back board for it
In the center blank space i will do some texture carving, a very good tool inside Vectric Vcarve Pro.. This mantle is WIP so bear with me;)

I'm not sure what a "Deer Gas Lamp" is but it looks interesting and, as usual, you have taken it well beyond what I expected. I can't wait to see it finished!

Mike
thanks for ur kind words of appraisal...I am attaching the Picture of 'Gas Lamp'so that u have an idea of it.. The Gas Lamp I found from scrap and its made up of Copper/Brass (metallic)..It was so cheap that i can't resist myself to buy...
Today I did some texture mapping in the center of the blank portion...

Khalid,
I googled gas lamps and saw a real variety of them out there, though most are antiques. I guess the only time I ever see them any more are when we go camping. I like the texture! I bought myself a 1 1/4" ball bit over the holiday break so I can try that myself.
Thanks for sharing!

Mike.. I will just use the Deer head, I will not use it as a 'Gas Lamp'... My wife suggest that installing of Spot lights inplace of gas burners will make it more attractive...
Currently rounding the edges of the mantel...let us what comes up next...
P.s: I used 12.7mm COVE BOX Bit for doing that texture in the center. The pictures do not shows the beauty what the actual is...
