Cutting slatwall out of mdf

Has anyone cut slatwall from mdf? Is this practical or cost efficient?

After adding in your time to generate the cut file, the machine time, and clean up I think it would be cheaper to buy it unless there is some crazy laminate you want on the face, in which case it might prove economical.
